The cost of post and packaging in the UK is £3.95 using Royal Mail 4-5 days Tracked 48. You can also use DPD Next working day for £5.95. Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), orders for non-customised or non-prescription items will be dispatched the same day if ordered before 14:00 Monday to Friday. Orders after 14:00 will be dispatched the next working day, orders after 14:00 on a Friday will be dispatched the following Monday. Please be aware that prescription glasses usually take 5-7 working days to complete and if you have opted for lens coatings or high index lenses these may take longer.

Please expect longer delivery times for items using Royal Mail during periods of industrial action. Check here for more information. 

The delivery times are subject to availability, payment authorisation verification and processing. Your order will be sent out via your chosen delivery method, if you are not available to take delivery of your parcel the postman should leave a calling card telling you how you can pick it up or how to arrange re-delivery.


You can return any undamaged non-customised items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the product price. All prescription eyewear is non-returnable and refunds are not able to be offered, these items are bespoke products. If you have not physically tried a frame you intend on having a prescription lens added to we would receommend purchasing the frame only to begin with to ensure the correct fitting and style. You would then be able to contact us once you are happy with the frame so that we can organise the addition of your prescription lenses. The refund for a returned non-customised product will not include the cost of return postage, customers are responsible for the cost of return postage should the item not be suitable for their requirements. All items must be in a resalable condition when we receive them. Please take care when opening product packaging/boxes, we may not be able to accept returns where the retail packaging has been damaged beyond what is deemed “reasonable care”.

To cancel your order simply fill in the returns form that accompanied your order and return the item using the provided address. We recommend returning the item to us using a service that is tracked and requires a signature on delivery. All goods must be returned to us in a resalable condition. Please note that for goods paid for by debit/credit card, we can only make a refund to the card used to make the original transaction.


We must be notified within 24 hours if any product arrives damaged. We must receive the item back to investigate before a refund or replacement can be organised. E-mail or phone 01656 858285 and we will arrange this. A returns label will be provided to return the item to us.

Any damage that becomes evident 14 days or more after delivery, any wear and tear or mistreatment of the item by the customer, is not the responsibility of  The Optic Shop and we are not responsible for any claims. All frames are guaranteed for one year by a manufacturer’s warranty, however the guarantee does not cover wear and tear or mistreatment. Scratches on the lenses are not covered under any warranty.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.


Any Oakley Custom product (Sunglasses or Optical) is non returnable as it is a customised item, made to the customer's specification.
